TERENCE DILLARD: A Delight for Booker T. Washington High School


Terence Dillard is a renowned Professional Educator working from last 20 years in the field of Education. He has been certified as L-6 Educational Leader and T-5 Health & Physical Educator. His efficient test administration skills, clear and influential oral communication, organized conceptual approach and development of Saturday Academy for At-risk students has fetched him the honor of DCSS Local Formal Hearing Proceedings. He is an extraordinary instructional school leader and an avid upholder of collaborative method to involve all stakeholders together in discussing, sketching and estimating several aspects of a current program that the school employs. He always designs his programs keeping goal of achieving maximum output of student achievements for the welfare of their and the institution’s future. 

After completing B.S. Degree from Edward Waters College in 1995, he went on to do majors in Educational Leadership in Jacksonville State University and in Nova Southeastern University in 2004 and 2009 respectively. This background of strong credentials in addition to the vast knowledge, perceptive attitude and a valuable experience in this field helped him to serve at various schools categorized under Atlanta Public School System and Dekalb County School System in Georgia District. His forte is efficient implementation of Male Mentoring Program, which is his own innovation, for guiding male students with adequate knowledge and rending behavioral as well as psychological guidance to tackle personal and professional obstacles in future with confidence. This program is highly supported by Lithonia High School and Booker T. Washington High School. His endeavors mainly focus on creating and controlling a professional learning group to bring improvements in standard based instruction teachings, to assist execution and monitoring of educational norms and help in growing data-driven and research-based instructionally formed ambience for students. His grand contribution in supporting marginalized teacher faculty and commencing local formal hearings for student discipline are worth applauding. 

Terence’s strong belief in the philosophy of the school program, team developing leadership qualities, advocacy on multicultural awareness, well structured quality staff development plan, promotion of a safe and friendly learning environment and encouraging technique to build collaborative relationships with parents and other educational entities involved have positioned him as the most striking and persuading instructional leader from last few years. Terrence Dillard is a gem of a person and the finest educator our present generation has. The Schools of Georgia Districts are really blessed to have him especially Booker T. Washington High School where he is currently teaching as an Assistant Principal.
