Terence Dillard: An Example of Great Devotion towards Education

It is a privilege and a great honour to present Terence Dillard, an exceptional educator and an Instructional mentor serving in this field from last twenty years with equal passion and persistence. He secured B.S. Degree from Edward Waters College in 1995 and then did specialization in Educational Leadership in Jacksonville State University in 2004 and also in Nova South-eastern University later in 2009. At present he is working as an Assistant Principal at Booker T. Washington High School. He is a very honest, responsible and dedicated educator who strongly believes and supports the idea that collective efforts invested by all education related entities can be used for planning, developing, executing and analyzing all the possible factors productive for excelling students’ academic results. His awareness for future responsibilities can be realized by this act as he wants to make students ready to confront the harsh world with courage and determination by construction of this influential program and its complexities. 

Serving at various schools falling under Atlanta Public Schools Systems and DeKalb County School Systems, Terence has mainly sketched the programs with a clear motive of expanding students’ success, building up qualified and trained staff, integration of modern technological advances, organization and disaggregation of instructional data, establishing AS400/ESIS Student Management Systems and improvisation in research-based educational initiatives. The success of his program is illustrated by means of three Gates Millennium achievers, eighteen Georgia Hope Scholarship students, six 100 Black Women Scholarship accomplishers and a significant increase in Readiness Performance Index score from 60.1 to 82.7 for the School of Banking, Finance, & Investment. His Male Mentoring Program at Booker T. Washington High School and at Lithonia High School provided academic, psychological and practical mentoring to male students. His has supported and motivated the marginalized teacher community in best of his abilities. He has also been honoured for his great contribution in DCSS Local Formal Hearing Proceedings.

Terence affirms that the success of this School System can be achieved through a well formatted strategic plan of minimum 3 to maximum 5 years in order to meet all the requirements and needs of the parent, teacher and student community. His performance can be measured from the awards, certificates and appreciation he received from his peers and higher authorities over the years as an Instructional Leader. Terence Dillard, An Asset of Booker T. Washington High School



It is an immense pleasure to represent Terence Dillard, one of the greatest living Instructional Leader of 21st century. He has been serving as an educator from last twenty years and devoted towards empowerment of students, teachers, parents, and education oriented communities with help of his vast professional experience, perseverance, hard work, upgraded knowledge and positive attitude. He consistently targets to enable all stakeholders participate in an active learning process using collaborative stance. Having spent a large part of his life in this field, he has realized the importance of the collective efforts and hence persuades the participants and education oriented entities to plan, implement, and analyse distinct factors governing the current school programme. This step is subjected towards improving student’s individual as well as collective achievements and prepares him to work and contribute to the betterment of global economy. 

Working as an Assistant Principal at Booker T. Washington High School earned him several accolades. Increment in Readiness Performance Index score from 79.1 to 80.1, three Gates Millennium scholars, Two Posse recipients and Eighteen students qualified for Georgia Hope Scholarship are to name a few. DCSS Local Formal Hearing Proceedings is another salient feature of his profile. The long praise and appreciation received from Dr. Cedric B. Masten, Former Vice-President and Council Exceptional Children at Clark Atlanta University put another feather in the list of my achievements. His initiative to begin Male Mentoring Program has yielded fruitful results to Booker T. Washington High School. He promises to do duties of a responsible instructional leader and collaborate with stakeholders for presenting educationally favourable and secured environment, promoting innovating teaching programs, and motivating learning communities to improve standards of current education strategy. His approach highly resorts on progressive technological advances, redefining classroom instruction and research-based advantages and improvement in parent and society participation in the program.

He has shown a great deal of enthusiasm in implanting a 3-5 year plan with well developed organization and strategy to fulfil all the needs of the students, parents, teachers and the community. His performance, merits and contribution in this field depict his capabilities in drawing exceptional results from the perspective of academics, sports, students behaviour, discipline and overall growth of student as well as the institution. His classroom and administrative approach is efficient enough to release the school of Georgia districts from the financial adversities. TERENCE DILLARD: A Delight for Booker T. Washington High School


Terence Dillard is a renowned Professional Educator working from last 20 years in the field of Education. He has been certified as L-6 Educational Leader and T-5 Health & Physical Educator. His efficient test administration skills, clear and influential oral communication, organized conceptual approach and development of Saturday Academy for At-risk students has fetched him the honor of DCSS Local Formal Hearing Proceedings. He is an extraordinary instructional school leader and an avid upholder of collaborative method to involve all stakeholders together in discussing, sketching and estimating several aspects of a current program that the school employs. He always designs his programs keeping goal of achieving maximum output of student achievements for the welfare of their and the institution’s future. 

After completing B.S. Degree from Edward Waters College in 1995, he went on to do majors in Educational Leadership in Jacksonville State University and in Nova Southeastern University in 2004 and 2009 respectively. This background of strong credentials in addition to the vast knowledge, perceptive attitude and a valuable experience in this field helped him to serve at various schools categorized under Atlanta Public School System and Dekalb County School System in Georgia District. His forte is efficient implementation of Male Mentoring Program, which is his own innovation, for guiding male students with adequate knowledge and rending behavioral as well as psychological guidance to tackle personal and professional obstacles in future with confidence. This program is highly supported by Lithonia High School and Booker T. Washington High School. His endeavors mainly focus on creating and controlling a professional learning group to bring improvements in standard based instruction teachings, to assist execution and monitoring of educational norms and help in growing data-driven and research-based instructionally formed ambience for students. His grand contribution in supporting marginalized teacher faculty and commencing local formal hearings for student discipline are worth applauding.
